House Projects

(Old blog) Over the last few weeks, more like over a month now, I've been taking some time to work on some small projects around the house. First of all, we've got the walls painted in the great room, foyer, and up/down hallways. Hurray! The white walls were getting to me.

Here's a view from the hallway upstairs. Notice the wood floor. I ripped out the carpet and put that in. Thank you Sam's Club for the great laminate flooring.

Here's a view from the hallway upstairs looking down into the great room. You can sort of notice the new color on the wall (White Raisin by Sherwin Williams).

We bought a painting and hung it over the fireplace on one of the four 18 foot high walls in the great room. The wall definately needed something big like that.

I'm still working on an additional wall that divides the great room and the kitchen. I don't have a picture of it yet because it's imcomplete, but it'll be done soon. Terri thinks otherwise. It's my first real attempt at framing, drywalling, and mudding. The mudding is the hardest part...and most time consuming and dirty.
